Goulash

1/3 lb hamburger
salt and pepper to taste
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, diced
1/4 to 1/2 t oregano
1/4 t garlic powder
1/4 t basil
1/2 t sugar
1 fresh tomato, cubed (optional)
1-6 oz can tomato paste
1 C water
1/2 C precooked macaroni


Heat frying pan over medium flame and brown meat until crumbly. Add salt, pepper, onion, and green pepper and saute until veggies are soft. Drain off any fat. Return to heat and add remaining ingredients (except macaroni), stirring until tomato paste I dissolved. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add macaroni and stir until hot. Serve with Parmesan cheese and French bread.
