Meaty Stuffed Peppers

1/2 lb ground beef
1 large onion, half diced, other half sliced 1/4 inch thick
2/3 C Minute Rice, uncooked
1 medium tomato, diced
1 egg, beaten
1/4 t hot pepper sauce
garlic salt and pepper to taste
2 medium green peppers
1/2 C water

In bowl, mix all ingredients except peppers and onion slices. Cut top off each pepper ad remove seeds. Divide stuffing evenly and pack each pepper. Place onion slices on bottom of pot. Place peppers upright in pot on top of onion slices, add water, and cover. Over medium flame, bring water to boil. Cook 45 minutes. Check to keep water level at least 1 inch up on peppers.
