Round Steak Hawaiian

1/4 cup cooking oil
1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 1/2 pounds round steak
1 jar home-style beef gravy
1 bell pepper, cut into stripes
chow mien noodles
1 pound mushrooms, sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt


Cut steak into 1/4 strips. Heat oil over medium-high heat. Add steak, onion, green pepper, mushrooms and salt. Cook until meat is brown, stirring constantly. Drain and add water chestnuts and gravy.

Cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve over rice and sprinkle with chow mien noodles.
