Sausage in a Pot

(serves 4)
2 1/2 pounds potatoes
1 1/3 pound kielbasa sausage
2 tablespoons butter
3 medium sized onions, coarsely chopped
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon marjoram
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups tomato juice, beef broth or water


Peel the potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Cut the sausage into 1 inch slices. In a skillet, brown the sausage in butter. Add the onions and sauté until golden and transparent. Stir in the paprika, then add the potatoes, marjoram, sugar, salt and tomato juice, beef broth or water. Cover and cook over low heat until the potatoes are tender. Serve hot.
